Saildrive Rebuild & Hull-Interface Repair MAJOR

Skookum Yacht Services (Granville Island) β€” Inv 11581  Β·  Stem to Stern Marine β€” RO 13433 ($9,636)
  • Haul-out, dive survey and systematic leak-tracing isolated minor water ingress to the saildrive bed β€” then fixed it properly, not patched
  • Saildrive removed from the vessel and fully rebuilt in-shop: new diaphragms, band clamps, oil seals, o-rings, backup rings, new anode and propeller nut assembly; seal & pressure tested
  • Saildrive aperture re-glassed by Skookum: three ingress paths eliminated, voids filled, and a new machined-flat fiberglass mating surface fabricated for the o-ring seal
  • Transmission and drive leg re-bedded; exhaust elbow re-gasketed; new muffler-to-elbow hose; new secondary fuel hose
  • Bilge-pump fault traced to a wrong-type check valve β€” root cause found and corrected

  • All-new heavy-gauge charging loom β€” alternator wiring re-run in 1/0 AWG marine cable with charge-sense runs direct to the batteries
  • Digital Echo charger installed between house and start banks; start battery properly isolated from the house system
